I just skyped Santa!  What a fun way to start off my day!  He had these tips for Christmas this year:

1.  Remember to remove toys from the packaging, charge any batteries that need charging and get them ready to go for playing on Christmas morning.  If you want to see sad faces around the tree, tell kids that they have to wait for you to go to the store for batteries before they can play with a new toy.

2.  The hot toys this year are radio controlled.  Santa showed me some of the new, fast options at Radio Shack this year.  Helicopters, race cars, ATV type that will climb over anything.  Fast, fun and sturdy enough to survive your kids.  Radio Shack is coming out with radio controlled cars this year that will have the frequency technology to allow for up to 10 cars to be used simultaneously without interference.

3.  Educational toys can still be fun – globes and kid-sized notebook computers teach kids while they play and they’ll have so much fun, they won’t even realize their learning.  A tip from Santa, even for young children, look for QWERTY keyboards and start out with correct typing skills from the start.

4.  Technology is big in the hot toys this year.  Don’t settle for “just a toy”, look for toys with technology like Teacup Piggy that comes with an MP3 player.

Hexbugs are perfect for kids who love to play with robots and bugs!

5.  Don’t forget to leave cookies and milk out for the big guy this year.  He needs lots of sugar and carbs for that busy Christmas Eve night.

Disclosure:  There is no material connection to disclose.  Radio Shack sponsored a Skype chat to show me there hot toys for this holiday season.
