Aulani, the new Disney resort in Hawaii officially opened it’s doors!  Located on the western shore of OÊ»ahu, the resort sits on 21 acres of beautiful beachfront property.

As a family, we are all about water sports, and the variety at Aulani is one of the resorts biggest attractions.  These are the top five “Ways to Get Wet”!  Countdown Style!

Aulani Resort - Disney in Hawaii

5.  Waikolohe Stream – Two tubing adventures await guests, one with rapids that will get your heart racing!  The second is a more serene adventure.

Aulani Sunset

4.  Whirlpool Spas – Ah, time to relax in a whirlpool spa with a sunset view.  Sunsets in Hawaii are spectacular and I can’t think of a better place to watch it from than a whirlpool spa at Aulani!

Menehune - Mythological "Little People" of Hawaii

3.  Menehune Bridge – The Menehune are the “little people” of Hawaiian mythology that live in deep forests and hidden valleys in Hawaii – hiding from human eyes.  The Menehune Bridge has treasures of fun water games for little ones that is sure to have them giggling and splashing.

Rainbow Reef

2.  Rainbow Reef  and Makai Preserve – This is snorkeling Disney-style, in the safe environment of an inland lagoon.  Colorful salt water fish to delight without worry of the more dangerous fish of an ocean.  If you don’t want to get wet, you can even watch the action from behind the glass walls.  The piece de resistance of the marine experience at Aulani, the Makai Preserve has some of the bigger sea creatures such as stingrays.  Reservations are required for this adventure which is guided by Disney Marine Biologists.

1.  White Sand Beaches – Of course, for me, in Hawaii, the number one water activity has to be the stunning Hawaiian beach.  Wow.

Ahhh……

Disclosure:  I was not compensated for this post – just love Disney.  All photos are courtesy of Disney – I haven’t been to Aulani, but I can dream!

I’m so excited that it’s open! I’ve seen it last week before they opened when we were on our way to one of the lagoons located near by the Aulani resort. I can’t wait to go and check it out, hopefully soon.
