The menopause blues can really get you down. It can leave you feeling depressed, irritated and anxious. However, there is a silver lining- these feelings are caused by hormones and this phase of your life will pass!
But, while you are still experiencing the woes of menopause, try out the following tips:

Tip 1: Have Some Me Time

Take time for yourself and do things that help you relax. Get a facial, snuggle up with a good book or go shopping-whatever makes you feel good is a good plan!

Tip 2: Misery Loves Company

Connect with other women who are going through menopause or have already made it to the end of the rainbow. You can share your own experiences and get some good advice from others in your position.

Sharing how you feel is a relaxing and uplifting experience in itself!

Tip 3: Laughter, Laughter and More Laughter

Laughter is the best medicine! Studies have shown that when we smile and laugh we release endorphins that give you a natural high. Watch your favorite comedy, see a comedy show, go out with your girlfriends – whatever is most likely to bring you a fun time!

Tip 4: Get a Good Night’s Rest

Sleep is especially important when your body and mind are in turmoil.  Being overtired can make your menopause symptoms much worse. If your  night time sleep is being interrupted by your symptoms, try to get in a good nap during the day. You can also try using a natural sleep aid such as melatonin. If you simply cannot get a good night’s sleep, talk to your doctor to see what else you can do.

Tip 5: Get a Pet

This may sound silly, but pets really are our best friends. They can be good motivators to get up and get going no matter how low we may feel. They also offer love and support as only they can!

Tip 6: Get a Good Workout

Exercise creates an abundance of endorphins as well and this can leave you feeling much better than before. If you find it hard to get into a workout routine, ask a friend to join you. When you work out with someone else it will not feel like so much of a job! Plus, exercise helps keep you feeling and looking slim and young so it is a win-win remedy!

Tip 7: Talk Things Out

Do not hold in all your thoughts, feelings and emotions. Let those in your life know what you are going through and they will likely offer you support and empathy. If nothing seems to help, try talking to your doctor. They know what you are going through and can offer more suggestions that can help make your life easier.
