About a year, no it just feels like a year, three weeks ago my dryer died.  Just gave up and died.  And my washer?  It was working but there was rust inside the little holes in the tub.  Ew!  Well, see for yourself.  Isn’t this just sad?

Ew. Rust is so gross! This is the top of our dryer, which we've tried cleaning/painting/covering... with no luck.

Maytag is going to be sponsoring a blogging campaign for their appliances and I applied for the kitchen suite rather than the washer and dryer *slapping forehead*.  Well, not really that crazy, because shortly after our dryer died, our dishwasher also kicked the bucket!  We are experiencing major appliance issues.  My fingers are crossed that the refrigerator holds out, but I’m afraid that is going to be the next to go.  Anyway, I’m anxiously awaiting news about whether I’ll be “lucky” and chosen to review Maytag kitchen appliances.  Maytag is a brand that has such an amazing reputation for dependability and quality.  Seriously, what do you want most in an appliance?  For me, I want it to work, and I want it to last.  That’s Maytag.

When Sean and I decided to shop for a washer and dryer, I immediately thought of the Maytag washer and dryer that’s going to be part of the blogger campaign!  They are called “Bravos XL”.  I started researching it and the more I read, the more I loved about these appliances.  They had so many great features.  Then I went to a store to see what they looked like.

Who knew Cupid hung out in the appliance department?  Because I saw the Maytag Bravos XL washer and dryer set, I fell in love.  Sean saw the price tag and did. not. fall. in. love.  If you know us, you know that I am frugal and Sean is a downright miser.  Well, it’s true!  But I said, honey, hold on.  You know I can find a deal.  So I started looking, and I did!  With the combination of a discount, a sale, and a rebate? Bingo!  I got the price down to something that was not totally crazy.  And they are so beautiful!

The Maytag Bravos XL washer and dryer were delivered yesterday – I am so excited!!  I was like a kid waiting for Christmas.  The delivery team (who did an excellent job, by the way) were laughing at me, as I took pictures and jumped up and down.  But hey, I don’t get new appliances every century, I mean every day.  New appliances are a reason to celebrate in our house!

Here are my after pictures, do you like it?

"After" Picture - Aren't they beautiful?!

A shelf for pantry overflow, a place to hang laundry, a mirror to brighten the small room and check your look before you head out the door.

Racks for Rosie's School Bag, Soccer Bag, Dance Bag....

More will be coming about how this amazing pair works!  Rosie and I sat an watched almost half a wash cycle (yes, we are easily amused), it was very cool.  Completely different from how my old washer worked.

The High Efficiency/Low-Water machine is an interesting new way to wash clothes!  Watch for more posts and video about my new Maytag Bravos XL.

Disclosure:  I would love to be a Maytag Mom, kitchen appliance ambassador, but as of now I am just an applicant and have received no products or compensation.
