I’m happy to be a stop on the book tour for Big Sky Mountain by New York Times Bestselling Author, Linda Lael Miller.
What It’s About and My Take
Big Sky Mountain is the second in Linda Lael Miller’s newest series. Â I reviewed the first in the series back in June and couldn’t wait to continue reading about the characters that became familiar in Big Sky Country. Â Miller creates such vivid characters that you feel as if they are your friends and family!
I dare you to read this book and not laugh out loud. Â My first guffaw came when Hutch stopped his own wedding because he’d been trying to tell his fiance that he wasn’t ready, but she wouldn’t listen. Â As she walks down the aisle, he decides that “push” had come smack up against “shove”. Â I love how Miller writes! Â “…maybe he was remembering that Brylee (the jilted bride) was a crack shot with a pistol, a rifle, or a Civil War cannon. Â Given what had just happened, she was probably leaning toward the cannon right about now.”
Then, just on page sixteen, I read the description of Kendra meeting her adopted daughter for the first time. Â It was so much like when I met my daughter! Â “….it was love at first sight. Â The forever kind of love.” Â and later, “…Kendra knew she couldn’t have loved her baby girl any more if she’d carried her in her own body for nine months.” Â Yes, I love how Miller writes!
This book is the story of Hutch and Kendra. Â I can’t wait for the next one – Big Sky River comes out in January, 2013.
About the Author
From Miller’s website:  “Linda traces the birth of her writing career to the day when a Northport teacher told her that the stories she was writing were good, that she just might have a future in writing. Later, when she decided to write novels, she endured her share of rejection before she sold FLETCHER’S WOMAN in 1983 to Pocket Books. Since then, Linda has successfully published historicals, contemporaries, paranormals, and thrillers before coming home, in a literal sense, and concentrating on novels with a Western flavor. For her devotion to her craft, the Romance Writers of America awarded her their prestigious Nora Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007.”
