Ann H. Gabhart is a best-selling author. Her Shaker stories include, The Outsider, The Believer and The Seeker.
This book grabbed me from the first page and held my interest to the end. Something about the style of writing and the story-telling quality pulled me into this book. I wasn’t surprised to read at the end that it was loosely based on the author’s family. It did seem very personal.

I learned that the background of the story is loosely based on her mother’s memories of growing up in the 1930’s. This sounds like a wonderful endearing story. I can’t wait to read it!
