ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

You can tell from this picture, and very much from her writing, that author Janice Thompson has a sense of humor.  From reading her book, Stars Collide, I would guess that Janice has come to terms with her life and definitely is a grounded woman with a good idea of what’s important and what’s not.  She writes with a maturity and wisdom.
In reading her bio, I learned that she was an avid reader as a child and would ache for more books after one ended because she loved the characters.  It encouraged her to create new adventures for them on her own.
Janice has four daughters and several grandchildren.  She lives in the Houston area where she is very active in local ministry.

MY TAKE ON THE BOOK:
Stars Collide is a light, fun read.  While it does explore many family issues – secrets, desertion, and conflict – it is done fairly simply and with great clarity.  It’s easier for me to describe what this book is not.  It is not dark, deep, twisted or tragic.  The main characters are strong in their faith and that helps them deal with the ups and downs in their life with a degree of calm.  Even the accelerating Altzheimer’s symptoms of one of the main characters is more charming than sad.
Like the characters that encouraged Janice Thompson to start writing books, these characters have me looking forward to the next book with Kat, Scott, and their friends.
