Are you a new or expecting Mom? Is someone in your family going to be having a baby soon? Do you have questions? I know I certainly did! Hmmm, still do! I’ll be checking in to tomorrow’s Playtex live Q and A session on Facebook and you should too! The resident expert is going to be Dr. Laura Jana. Here is the bio from her website:
Dr. Laura Jana is an Omaha-based pediatrician, health communicator, and the award-winning author of Heading Home with Your Newborn and Food Fights. Having first served as a consultant to Dr. Benjamin Spock, Dr. Jana went on to co-found The Dr. Spock Company in 1999, and then subsequently founded her own company – Practical Parenting Consulting. Well recognized nationally for her ongoing efforts to promote healthy lifestyles for children and offer credible practical parenting advice to new and expectant parents, Dr. Jana serves as a media spokesperson for the American Academy of Pediatrics; is on the advisory board for American Baby magazine, The Walt Disney Internet Group and Nancy Snyderman’s BeWell Expert Network; and serves as an expert consultant for academic organizations, non-profits, and major corporations such as P&G and Reckitt Benckhiser/Lysol. Having spent several years as a parenting expert on Omaha’s top morning radio program and as the parenting expert for Omaha’s NBC affiliate, Dr. Jana is also the proud mother of three, a published children’s book author and early literacy advocate, and the proud owner of Primrose School of Legacy – a nationally franchised, 200-student educational child care center.
What I loved to see on her website is that she truly has a sense of humor! She wrote a book called, Heading Home with Your Newborn and the sub-title is “From Birth to Reality”. I had to chuckle at that one! The topics include, “Into the Mouths of Babes” which addresses the trials of breastfeeding. On to “What Comes in, Must Come Out”. Well, you can guess what that one is about! Speaking of… she has a new book coming out called , It’s You and Me Against the PEE… and the POOP Too!. This lady has been in the trenches, er, diapers!
Dr. Laura is teaming up with Playtex tomorrow for a live question and answer session on the Playtex Facebook page. If you head over there early (even now) you can post any questions you have and hopefully you’ll see them answered tomorrow.
What: Live Question and Answer with
PlaytexBaby Expert Dr. Laura Jana
When: Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010 2:00-3:00 pm EST
Where:Â Playtex Baby Facebook page
I saw Playtex representatives at the Chicago Blogger’s Brunch put on by Child’s Play Communications. They so kindly gave me a Playtex “Lil First Gripper” cup that Rosie loves! She already knew how to use a straw, but the Gripper cup has a unique feature. Moms can squeeze it to bring the liquid to the tip of the straw, encouraging the child to use the straw. Cool!
Playtex also gave me a 4 Long Handled Infant Spoons and a Drop-Ins System Nurser with Slow Flow Nipple, that I’m passing on to a lucky KLY reader!
