Have you seen the Giada De Laurentiis ready-to-serve food products at Target.  I have been using the pasta sauce for months – it has become my absolute hands-down favorite.  When I was on the Nutrisystem program, I even contacted them to find out how I could work Giada’s sauce into my meals, I love it that much.

When Mom Central sent me samples of more of the Giada De Laurentis for Target food products I was thrilled to try some new, delicious treats and work them into other dishes, making preparation that much easier and faster.

Easy Appetizer, Giada De Laurentiis for Target Black Olive Tapenade with Baguette Slices and Pita Chips

One of my favorite restaurants in Chicago is the Park Grille at Millenium Park and they always serve an olive tapenade with bread before a meal.  When I saw that Mom Central had sent me Giada De Laurentis for Target Black Olive Tapenade, I couldn’t wait to try it!  It’s great in recipes like this one for tartlets, but it’s also easy and delicious just with bread and crackers.

Tomato Basil Tartlets

  • 1 (10-by-9-inch) sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/3 cup Giada De Laurentiis for Target Black Olive Tapenade
  • 1 cup (2 1/2 ounces) shredded fontina cheese
  • 8 cherry tomatoes, quartered
  • 6 basil leaves, chopped
  • Fleur de Sel or other large flake sea saltDirections:
  1. Place an oven rack in the center of the oven. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Place the pastry on a lightly floured work surface. Using the tines of a fork, prick the pastry all over. Using a 2 1/4-inch round cookie cutter, cut out 16 rounds of pastry. Place the pastry rounds on the prepared baking sheet. Lay a piece of parchment paper on top of the pastry rounds. Place another baking sheet directly on top of the parchment paper to keep the pastry even while baking. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until golden. Remove the top baking sheet and the top piece of parchment paper.
  3. Spread 1 teaspoon of tapenade on each pastry round. Place about 1 tablespoon of cheese on top. Arrange 2 pieces of tomato on the cheese. Bake for 5 to 7 minutes until the cheese has melted. Sprinkle the chopped basil on top.
  4. Transfer the tartlets to a platter and garnish with a pinch of Fleur de Sel.

I went to a Mom’s Night Out party, last Friday, and as usual, was scrambling at the last minute to find a dish to take.  I spied the Giada De Laurentiis for Target Eggplant and Tomato Spread and it worked out perfectly!  I had a four-compartment dish and put in the spread, sliced baguette, and pita chips.  Perfect!  It was delicious and pretty!  But even better?  Fast and easy!  And I forgot to take a picture!

I used the Giada De Laurentiis for Target Marinated Mushrooms and Marinated Sun Dried Tomatoes to spruce up and add some color to these steamed green beans.  Easy and beautiful, no?
