It’s here!

Time to start thinking about

where you are going to watch the BIG GAME!

And, maybe just as importantly, what’s on the snack menu, hehehe!

Whether you will be watching at home or taking a snack to a friend’s party, I have a recipe for an easy and delicious treat that will make you the choice for Most-Valuable-Player.  I picked up everything I needed for a football viewing party at our local Jewel-Osco in one quick trip!  Simple solutions for an amazing Game Day spread.

Once in awhile I make a recipe that is sooooo good that I put down the camera and I just have to eat before I can even get the pictures finished.  Buffalo Chicken Dip was one of those recipes!  And I especially loved it because it is E-A-S-Y.  Anyone can make this, it’s cost-friendly, no special cooking tools are required, and it is hands-down yummy!!  Add to that, it can be prepared ahead of time, so you just have to pop it in the oven on game day and won’t miss out on a minute of the action.

Buffalo Chicken and football go together like a touchdown and an extra point, don’t they?  This recipe for Buffalo Chicken Dip lets you serve a traditional football favorite made fresh, but oh-so-easy!  Watch me make mine step-by-step and you’ll have all the info you need.  I know you’ll be saying, “Wow, I’m lucky I read that!” by the end of this post.

There are only five ingredients to this recipe!

Ingredients for Easy Buffalo Chicken Party Dip

  1. Jewel-Osco rotisserie chicken
  2. 8 ounces of low-fat or fat-free cream cheese
  3. 1/3 to 2/3 cup hot sauce
  4. 1 packet dry ranch dressing mix
  5. 1 cup 0% fat Greek yogurt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese, ranch packet, hot sauce, and Greek yogurt until well combined.  (If the cream cheese is hard to mix, microwave it for a few seconds and try again.)
  3. Add in the shredded chicken and combine well.  Pour mixture into an 8×8 baking dish, and bake for 15-20 minutes or until dip is hot throughout.  If desired, top with sliced green onions or crumbled blue cheese and serve hot!

Serves: about 24

Serving size: 1/4 cup

Prep time: 15 minutes

Total time: 30 minutes

Notes:  Recipe can be easily doubled for a bigger crowd (or if you want ensure leftovers, because the dip can easily be reheated).  Adjust the amount of hot sauce based on the “heat” you want to bring to the game!

The produce, deli, and bakery sections at my Jewel-Oscol are the favorite parts of the store for me.  So many choices of fresh food – made easy.  Fruit and veggies, ready-to-eat, prepared right in the store.  Everything looks so delicious!  You can pick up trays of all kinds of treats for your party.  Serve as is, or add a little twist to make it your own.  We bought some Tostitos Chunky Salsa, which is always a football favorite at our house.  Several of our friends are vegetarians or watching their calories and salsa with fresh veggies is the perfect snack for them.
