Fun and Delicious – flipflop Wines and the #FlippinGoodDeeds Challenge

I’ve had a bad day.  Not really bad – it’s not like my pet died, or I was diagnosed with cancer – just annoying bad.

I went to a meeting this morning at 9:00.  Got up early.  Dressed up.  Drove 50 miles.  You know what I mean.  I got there and I was the only one.  The only one.  Called the host and said, “Where is the meeting? Do I have the wrong place?”  “No,” she said, “the meeting was cancelled.  We always cancel if there is a school weather cancellation or delay.”  Huh?  The weather looked fine to me.  “Cancellation or delay?” I said.  “Yes,” she replied, “there was a 2 hour fog delay for the schools this morning.”

Seriously?

Fog?

Seriously?

The meeting was cancelled for…. fog?

Seriously?

Okay, that’s the kind of day I had – it continued throughout the day.  Nothing terrible, just one of those “all-red-lights” days.

But, okay, now I am going to open a bottle of flipflop wine and chill.  Yes…… chill….. yes….. flipflop, I wish you were here to join me!

Ah….. can you hear me unwinding?  I have a delicious glass of flipflop Riesling.  It is cold and crisp – I like it!

Shhhhhh!  *whisper* I break “wine rules”.  Shhhhhhh!   Don’t tell anyone, but I drink dessert wines before a meal, I put a Riesling in a champagne glass, I don’t judge a wine by whether it has a cork or a cap.

And I have to say, I like this Riesling.  It’s fruity and light.  Perfect to lift my spirits today :)

This is what flipflop says about this Riesling.  “Medium-bodied, complex Riesling with peach, apricot and melon which leads to a satisfying, smooth finish.  It is full of tropical notes and sweet aromas.”  I would not have identified the melon, but now that I’ve read that, I can taste the melon.  Delicious.  I give this flipflop wine a “thumbs-up” for a perfect turn-a-red-light-into-green-light-day wine.

flipflop wines launched a “Soles4Souls flippin’ good deeds” campaign on September 6th.  The goal of the campaign is to create an online buzz about the mission of Soles4Souls.  It is the most amazing contest – and one I would love, love, love to win.  One blogger is going to be able to go with flipflop and Soles4Souls on an international mission trip to distribute shoes to those in need.  Showing that the simple act of giving someone a pair of shoes can change their lives.  How cool is that?!

Show your support for flipflop and Soles4Souls by liking them on Facebook, following them on twitter, and make a donation!  Give a pair of shoes or if you would prefer, donate money – for each dollar they receive, they will be able to give a pair of shoes.
