I’ve had a bad day. Â Not really bad – it’s not like my pet died, or I was diagnosed with cancer – just annoying bad.
I went to a meeting this morning at 9:00. Â Got up early. Â Dressed up. Â Drove 50 miles. Â You know what I mean. Â I got there and I was the only one. Â The only one. Â Called the host and said, “Where is the meeting? Do I have the wrong place?” Â “No,” she said, “the meeting was cancelled. Â We always cancel if there is a school weather cancellation or delay.” Â Huh? Â The weather looked fine to me. Â “Cancellation or delay?” I said. Â “Yes,” she replied, “there was a 2 hour fog delay for the schools this morning.”
Seriously?
Fog?
Seriously?
The meeting was cancelled for…. fog?
Seriously?
Okay, that’s the kind of day I had – it continued throughout the day. Â Nothing terrible, just one of those “all-red-lights” days.
But, okay, now I am going to open a bottle of flipflop wine and chill. Â Yes…… chill….. yes….. flipflop, I wish you were here to join me!
Ah….. can you hear me unwinding? Â I have a delicious glass of flipflop Riesling. Â It is cold and crisp – I like it!
Shhhhhh! Â *whisper* I break “wine rules”. Â Shhhhhhh! Â Don’t tell anyone, but I drink dessert wines before a meal, I put a Riesling in a champagne glass, I don’t judge a wine by whether it has a cork or a cap.
And I have to say, I like this Riesling. Â It’s fruity and light. Â Perfect to lift my spirits today :)
This is what flipflop says about this Riesling. Â “Medium-bodied, complex Riesling with peach, apricot and melon which leads to a satisfying, smooth finish. Â It is full of tropical notes and sweet aromas.” Â I would not have identified the melon, but now that I’ve read that, I can taste the melon. Â Delicious. Â I give this flipflop wine a “thumbs-up” for a perfect turn-a-red-light-into-green-light-day wine.
flipflop wines launched a “Soles4Souls flippin’ good deeds” campaign on September 6th. Â The goal of the campaign is to create an online buzz about the mission of Soles4Souls. Â It is the most amazing contest – and one I would love, love, love to win. Â One blogger is going to be able to go with flipflop and Soles4Souls on an international mission trip to distribute shoes to those in need. Â Showing that the simple act of giving someone a pair of shoes can change their lives. Â How cool is that?!
Show your support for flipflop and Soles4Souls by liking them on Facebook, following them on twitter, and make a donation! Â Give a pair of shoes or if you would prefer, donate money – for each dollar they receive, they will be able to give a pair of shoes.
Click on the button below to find out more info about the #FlippinGoodDeeds Challenge.
Donate – $20 provides 20 pairs of shoes!
