My mom, my daughter and I love to head out for “adventures” on the weekend. Â This past weekend we went to the Intel Technology Experience Zone at a Best Buy store near us. Â Just going to Best Buy is fun, but this new Experience Zone is like frosting on the fun!
All three of us love to try out the new computers, tablets, smartphones and more at Best Buy.  I’m a huge fan of online shopping, but there is something about being able to touch the technology that makes the Best Buy experience unique.
“While most (79%) of Americans are excited about the chance to learn and try out new technologies, half are frustrated by the lack of access to them beyond what they read or see in the media”, according to a new study by Intel and Toluna. Â Knowing this, Intel and Best Buy have teamed up to bring new Intel Technology Experience zones to 50 Best Buy stores in major markets across the U.S. Â At the Experience Zone you can play, yes, play with powerful technology like a 3D printer.
I’ve been hearing about 3D printers on my favorite tv shows. Â It was amazing to be able to use the touchscreen to design a 3D robot and to see not only a robot but other objects that had been created by the printer.
My daughter loved playing sound studio technician and remixing tracks by Ne-Yo. Â Creating a light show that was impressive!
The Mars exhibit used Augmented Reality. Â With Augmented Reality you superimpose digital images onto the real objects around you. Â It allows you to turn the floors, ceilings and walls around you into a game space. Â Intel processors provide the power to merge the digital and physical worlds.
