I’m guessing that there will be parents planning trips to a Disney park soon. Have you thought about fun ways to tell kids you are going on a Disney vacation? I’ve been “researching” and found some ideas then put my own lucky twist on them!

Our trip to Walt Disney World was the highlight of 2012 for us! It is truly a magical place. My daughter loves going there, but I’m not sure that I don’t love it more than she does! Seeing the look on her face as she discovers the exciting and fun venues, joyfully rides fun iconic attractions like “It’s a Small World”, and sees her favorite characters (ie Princesses!) created forever memories.

1. Mickey Plush With a Special T-Shirt That Says, “We’re Going to Disney!”

Check your local craft stores for customizable t-shirts, add a plush Mickey and you’re set!

2. Mickey Mouse Ears and an Autograph Book

Nothing says Disney Parks like Mickey Mouse Ears (or Minnie!)

An autograph book makes even a shy kid love seeing characters. My favorite souvenir!

DisneyStore.com has fun choices!

3. Scavenger Hunt with Disney Message “Treasures”

Wrap boxes with directions to hunt for a gift, or if your children are too young to read, pictures of somewhere in the house. Then at the destination, place a Disney themed item with a note. Either one destination, perhaps with the iconic Cinderella castle, or multiple locations with progressive messages! The castle playset above is on sale right now at DisneyStore.com.

4. Personalized Set from Disney Florist

We went to Disney a few years ago for Christmas (well, we went earlier in December), but the kids had NO idea we were going. I put out a few boxes so thats what they found the morning we were leaving when they woke up. It was wrapped in Disney themed paper.. inside was all Disney themed things – things to do in the car during the drive, stuffed toys, tshirts, pajamas.. and the very last box was a note (and park tickets) that told them were were going to Disney and that they needed to call Grandma & tell her to back a bag because she was going with us (my mom knew, but the kids were so excited to call and “surprise” her too).

I really wish I would have had a creative way to do it when I took my son about a year ago. We just took him and didn’t surprise him or anything but it would have been so fun to have done that!

I think placing some Mickey ears in a wrapped box & having a going away party would be exciting!

Get a Disney DVD vacation planner and say how would you like to go there? When they say when tell right now, next week. Get packed we’re going to Disney.
