We all know the story of “Annie” and love the music! Director James Lapine has brought this timeless story back to Broadway in a new production at the Palace Theatre, Broadway and 47th Street. I wish I could give you a personal review *hint* *hint*, but I haven’t seen it…. yet. These are pretty reliable sources though:
The original Broadway production of Annie opened in 1977! Annie won the Tony Award for Best Musical. The song most of us know and love from the play is, “Tomorrow”. Yes, the sun will come out! It tells the story of a little orphan girl, invited to the home of a billionaire for Christmas. He decides to help her find her parents, and chaos ensues. There are villains and heroes. Children and dogs. What more could you want? A happy ending? Well, you won’t be disappointed!
