A playhouse from Build a Dream Playhouses.™ will give them hours of creative, imaginative play!  I remember, as a child, loving to play in giant boxes with my friends.  Pretending they were a rocket ship, a race car, a store-front.  Build A Dream uses that concept but makes it even more fun and easier on parents by providing design help.

Build A Dream sent us the Imagine Wagon to review and this afternoon was the most fun we’ve had in awhile! It took Sean about 15-20 minutes to put it together. Rosie was helping him and getting more and more excited by the minute. She was planning to use it as a lemonade stand and chose the name “Lemonade and Lollipops by Rosie”. We made a big sign saying, “Open for Business”.

Sean put it together inside, but then we moved outside to paint it. It was a beautiful summer day and a great time to get outside and enjoy some family fun! We used Crayola Kid’s Paint (washable, whew!) and it worked great. Rose spent at least two hours painting. Which is a long time for a 5 year old! Towards the end, she was doing a lot of playing in the water we used to clean brushes, but the whole project did a great job of holding her interest and encouraging her imagination.

There have been numerous studies that point to the importance of imaginative play. I know Rose loves to “imaginate” as she says. I can tell it also is one of her favorite things to do because we do it with her, and what kid doesn’t like an activity the whole family is involved in.

I had some reservations about a playhouse made from cardboard, but I was pleasantly surprised to see how strong and flexible it was.  It was easy to paint!  From the Build A Dream website,  “Our products are manufactured from 80% recycled materials that result in an end product that is 100% recyclable. Our distribution center is located only 38 miles away from our manufacturer, which drastically reduces the fuel consumption required to ship our products.”
