We have been buying Build-A-Bear animals for years – nine years to be exact. Going to Build-A-Bear is one of my daughter’s favorite things in the w-h-o-l-e world. We had one of her birthday parties there, it’s a last-day-of-school tradition and we’ve even been to a Build-A-Bear in Puerto Rico. Once in awhile an employee at Build-A-Bear will ask my daughter how many she has and I hold my breath. But I’m not embarrassed by the count because usually she just says, “lots”. Bottom line? We love Build-A-Bear.
Of all the Build-A-Bears I’ve seen in the last nine years, my favorite is the new Lalaloopsy dolls. They are a-d-o-r-a-b-l-y sweet and different than most plush. Because it’s a doll, not an animal, it’s quite different than the usual Build-A-Bears. The faces are beyond cute. And Lalaloopsy curls are very soft and feel wonderful. Bright, fun colors make the dolls just burst with fun! I saw two of the four dolls that will be available – Crumbs Sugar Cookie, Jewel Sparkles, Peanut Big Top, Mittens Fluff ‘N’ Stuff. My daughter chose Peanut Big Top (we loved her striped legs).
And of course, it doesn’t stop with the dolls. What else? The shoes! The shoes? The shoes! The Lalaloopsy shoes are shaped like little moon boots. A-do-r-a-b-l-e! Each doll has their own dress but you can mix-and-match, as well. Everything is in the same bright, fun color palette and cute from start to finish. There is even a Lalaloopsy Baking Oven! My daughter couldn’t wait to try baking in it and we had cookies within an hour of getting ours home! In addition to the oven, it includes Lalaloopsy-themed baking pans, baking mixes, sprinkles, pan pusher, and recipe booklet. It also comes with 1 cake and 1 cookie mix! The thing my daughter loved was the recipe instructions that said, a “dash” of this, or a “sprinkle” of that”. At first it didn’t make sense, then she looked at the measuring spoons and they are marked with “dash” and “sprinkle”. So fun and child-friendly!
Lalaloopsy is celebrating their Super Silly 5th Anniversary Party. Lalaloopsy, the #1 large doll collector brand for girls, launched in 2010 with eight characters and now has nearly 100 distinctly different large dolls. Lalaloopsy were once rag dolls that magically came to life when their very last stitch was sewn. But until now, fans have never been able to sew their own last stitch. “We are so pleased to partner with MGAE to offer the first ever make-your-own plush versions of their adorable Lalaloopsy line. The personalized experience offered by Build-A-Bear Workshop during our heart ceremony uniquely positions us to complete the fantasy of the storyline for little girls by literally making the ‘final stitch’ that magically brings the characters to life.” said Sharon Price John, CEO of Build-A-Bear Workshop.
There is also a new Lalaloopsy DVD! The new DVD movie features the Lalaloopsy characters making their musical dreams come true. When Jewel learns that Keys Sharps ‘N’ Flats has dreams of being a pop music star, she introduces Keys to two new characters, Strings Pick ‘N’ Strum and Sticks Boom Crash, in creating their new band, The Buttonnettes. Soon everyone is feeling the joy of music, as Spot starts making musical art pieces and Dot discovers a new musical galaxy. I was given a copy of the DVD, and my daughter LOVED it. It will be available for sale on 8/11 and one lucky KLY reader will win a copy! Enter in the Rafflecopter form below and good luck!
