Buddy Valastro, the Cake Boss, not only makes delicious and beautiful cakes in his New Jersey bakery, he entertains millions with his television show. Â I’ve been watching for years and love seeing the amazing designs of his creations. Â When I was contacted about reviewing some products from his new line, I was very excited. Â I don’t have much, if any, experience in decorating cakes but Buddy and his crew make it look so easy.
I remember one Cake Boss show in particular where Buddy was screening potential new employees by having them decorate 9-inch round cakes. Â It’s what I think of as Buddy’s staple – the beautiful fondant covered round layer cakes. Â So that’s immediately what I thought of when I was considering venturing into the world of cake decorating. Â After seeing the Cake Boss product line at the Chicago Housewares Show, I knew they were excellent quality. Â But could I make a bakery-quality cake, even with high end tools? Â I’m never one to back down from a challenge! Â Bring it on!

After baking my cake, I have a new found admiration for bakers. Â It was fun, but it did take longer than I thought it would. Â I ended up baking two cakes because my first one didn’t rise for some reason. Â But the second one came out beautifully and I loved the Cake Boss Deluxe Cake Pans. Â The handles made them very easy to use and the weight and thickness of the metal gave them a feeling of quality. Â The nonstick interior cleaned up beautifully. Â Made from commercial-quality carbon steel, their extra-strength rolled edge construction is designed to deliver long-lasting use and performance. Â There are red silicon rolling-pin-shaped grips on the handles that add a touch of whimsy and make the pans easy to hold even with large or slippery potholders. Â My two layers came out beautifully. Â I was thrilled with the shape of my cake.
I also received an acrylic fondant rolling pin with swirl patterns to try. Â It is so cool! Â After rolling out your fondant with a standard rolling pin, you use this acrylic patterned one to create embossed-looking swirls in the frosting! Â It creates a stunning look, don’t you think? This is a small piece of fondant in a neon pink that I was playing with and trying to make ribbons.

I should win because ever since i was 3 years old my family always were encouraging me to get into baking and cooking. I deserve to win this because baking tool are now these days expensive and growing up in a low income family my parent don’t have the money to pay for such supplied because we have other bills to worry about. So please i love cooking and baking. I want the fact that because we don’t have the money i should quite doing the things i love so much. Plus my birthday is coming near so many people requested that i bake and cook but i don’t have the tools beside some 10 years equipment that are barely sustainable. Please help, thank you.

I love that the cake pans have handles! My cake pans I have do not have those, these ones would be a lot easier to remove from the oven.
I would say the fondant rollers! I have issues with fondant and what to do with it, and with anything to make a pattern for me, that is just awesome! Makes me want to play around with fondant more!

I would say that all the pans are my favorite. I love the handles. Mine do not have that and it can be difficult to pull them out of the oven without getting burned or smashing a corner of the cake. The pans look durable, also.
