One of the most stand-out products for me at the International Home and Housewares Show in Chicago were the silicone lids from Charles Viancin. Not only beautiful, they are amazing. I was at a store recently that sold them and there was a sample lid and bowl on the counter because as the owner said, “You can’t imagine what this product is like, until you try it.”
What first got my attention was the design of the product. These nature-inspired creations are beautiful! The colors and shapes are truly pretty. Then after I tried it, I was hooked. I asked the company to send me an assortment for review and they did. Here is my daughter, demonstrating the Sunflower Silicone Lid.
Made from food grade silicone, the Sunflower Silicone Lid seals tight on all smooth surfaces. It works equally well on stainless steel, glass, plastic or melamine. It creates an airtight, watertight seal. You can use it to cover leftovers in the fridge and then reheat them in the microwave. Unlike plastic wrap, that fills landfills, the Silicone Lids are reusable. Just wash (and they are super-easy to wash!) and reuse. They come in three different sizes and range from $7.99-$15.99 in price.
On the package, it says that the Sunflower Lid “Creates Smiles” and it does! It’s one of those, “you won’t believe this” products. It’s not huge, it’s not life-changing, but it’s just cool!
In addition to Silicone Lids of various styles and designs, Charles Viancin also makes other fun and functional kitchen products.  Some examples are:
·        Cabbage Colander and Steamer: Drain and Steam the Cool Way
Cooking pasta and steaming veggies just got a whole lot cooler with the new, flexible cabbage-designed colander and steamer. The temperature resistant silicone is ideal for use in everything from the microwave to the refrigerator, and can be wrapped compactly to reduce cabinet clutter. It can also be rolled up for easy storage. The colander retails for $19.99.
·        The Overboil Ring: Boil Confidently, Without the Mess
Keep liquid from boiling over on the stovetop and making a mess with this silicone ring with raised edges. A central opening allows for simple stirring, mixing and serving without removing the ring. The OverBoil Ring is available in violet or blue and retail between $11.99-17.99.
·        Lily Pad Tea Infuser: Steep and Keep Tea Warm
Brew yourself a cup of tea and keep it hot while it steeps, all with one simple device. Inspired by lily pads, this tea infuser allows you to pour the tea leaves you wish to use into the perforated tea bulb. The lily pad lid keeps tea hot as it steeps. The Lily Pad Tea Infuser retails for $14.99 for infuser, mug and coaster.
·        Bulb Wine Stoppers: Keep Wine Fresh and Beautiful
Every open bottle of wine should be topped with a beauty from nature. These silicone floral inspired wine stoppers are perfect for the home. Available in sunflower, hibiscus and Lily Pad, these stoppers add a pop of color to the party.

I love the banana leaf cover! That would go perfectly for my baking dishes that I always have to cover with plastic wrap or foil.
