Freschetta, those yummy pizza people, have come out with a new pizza – Freschetta By The Slice. A single slice cut from a whole pizza, Freschetta By The Slice is made with the same premium ingredients for that same delicious fresh taste found in all Freschetta Pizzas.
I tried Freschetta By The Slice for dinner tonight and was pleasantly surprised, especially by the crust. I was very careful to follow the microwave directions and it came out beautifully! Sometimes pizza in the microwave can be unevenly cooked and mushy, but the tray that By The Slice came in must be the difference because this was perfectly cooked!
I chose the Vegetable Medley – I’m a veggie girl! It had red, yellow, and green peppers, black olives, mushrooms, mozzarella, and Fontina Cheeses. It’s difficult to make a veggie pizza that doesn’t get soggy – veggies have a lot of moisture – but Freschetta succeeded! And I loved that the peppers were “browned”, giving it an oven roasted look.
Oddly enough, Freschetta is made by Schwan, who also makes my Nutrisystem Frozen Food! The Vegetable Medley By The Slice had 370 calories compared to my 190-210 Nutrisystem pizza. There was definitely more cheese on this one. Speaking of cheese, the Fontina Cheese, gave the Vegetable Medley a unique and gourmet flavor. I liked it very much.

Chicken,Spinach, and mushroom is another by the slice variety. I’m surprised that they don’t offer more varieties of pizza by the slice. I wouldn’t be surprised if they added more though. I haven’t tried the pizza by the slice yet; however, I have tried a few of their other pizzas and I love their products.
