Disclosure:  KLY will be sent samples of the Kohl’s Cares collection for review.

One of my favorite, favorite, favorite charity initiatives is Kohl’s Cares.  If you’ve ever been in a Kohl’s store, you’ve seen the fun stuffed animals and books at the front of the store.  Priced at only $5 each, Kohl’s has made books accessible to so many kids that may otherwise not have had them.  In addition, 100% of the net profits are donated to support children’s health initiatives!  That money is donated to more than 160 hospitals across the country. Each hospital uses the money to create hospital run programs like car seat safety checks and bike helmet giveaways to dental care and injury prevention programs.

Every season there is a cute new collection with items priced at just $5 each, so you can buy new books and soft toys year-round.  I loved reading to my daughter and then having the coordinating stuffed animal to “act out” the story.  It was more fun and meaningful to have a three dimensional “friend” to hold and hug as we read the stories.  Even my OCD-self, loved how her shelves looked with the books and matching soft characters on display.

Do you know a child with an upcoming birthday?  A gift from Kohl’s Cares can be a gift that gives back!

The summer collection of Kohl’s Cares books and plush is available now through June 26 at Kohl’s Stores nationwide and online at Kohls.com and includes:

I can’t remember the name of the character, but have been trying to find book again. I read it over and over again when i was young. The story was about a boy who went out trick or treating on Halloween and couldn’t understand why people were not giving him candy, but giving him everything else like bars of soap etc. well it turns out it that he went trick or treating on the wrong night, it was not Halloween after all. If anyone remembers it, I need to know the title. Thanks.

I have a lot of favorite books, but the one I can think of is “LOVE YOU FOREVER” written by Robert Munsch. Their was not a specific character, but it was about a mama that told her baby every night this little chant: I’ll love you forever,
    I’ll like you always,
    As long as I’m living
    my baby you’ll be.
All through his growing up she would go in his room and chant it. One day after he had grown up, the mama got sick and her went to her room and said the same chant but change the last line to: my Mommy you’ll be.
