I’m headed to Las Vegas next month for the Consumer Electronics Show! I’m starting to plan what to pack and turned to Shabby Apple, an online boutique of women’s dresses. Â Have you heard of them? Here’s the “About Us” from their website:
“A return to what dresses were always meant to be — a one-piece outfit. No need to add anything…no tank tops, no cardigans, nothing (except accessories, of course!).
We started Shabby Apple because we saw a need in women’s fashion that was not being met. A need to make women feel feminine and beautiful for what they wear, not what they bare. We offer flirty, stylish dresses a woman can wear just as comfortably in the office, at a family dinner, or on a date. Shabby Apple is a fashion company for women, by women, and of women.
Because serving women and families is a core value at Shabby Apple, we devote a certain percentage of our net proceeds to charitable causes serving women and children.”
When I was in the traditional workforce, I loved wearing business suits because it was so easy! Â No matching, coordinating, just grab-and-go. Â When I saw the tagline above that a dress is a one-piece outfit, I thought this would be a great replacement for my business suits. Â The same easy, grab-and-go but more fun!
The choices at Shabby Apple cover a large range of styles – vintage and boutique. Â They categorize by great descriptions like “flirty”, “sophisticated”, and “essential”. Â It’s fun to shop the website, head over there and take a look!
One lucky Kelly’s Lucky You reader is going to win the same Shabby Apple dress that I’m choosing for my upcoming trip!
As someone who is not at my ideal weight with “things to hide” (well, it’s true), I didn’t want to choose a solid color, but my preference is not fussy prints, so I love the stripes! Â The navy and white combination always creates a crisp, fresh look. Â The boat neck and elbow-length sleeves are also flattering for all figure types. Â Because the stripes are variegated, the eye moves across “bouncing” from stripe to stripe which means the eye won’t rest on one area. Â Traditionally, horizontal stripes across the hips are not the best choice, but because of the uneven area between the stripes, the widening effect of horizontal stripes is diminished. Â I also like that there is a slight flare at the hem, I think that adds a flirty, fun feel and is more flattering than a pencil skirt.
Not sure what looks good on your body type? Â Shabby Apple has an awesome feature called “Style Tools”. Â It’s easy and helpful! Â You answer a few questions, and the Shabby Apple style experts choose a selection of dresses for you. Â It’s like having a personal stylist in your computer! Â (and it’s fun!)
One lucky reader is going to win the Tiber dress from Shabby Apple (www.shabbyapple.com), an online boutique of women’s dresses! Â Enter in the Rafflecopter form below.
