At the Disney Social Media Moms Conference, there was a special character at Event Sign Up this year.  I was super-excited.  Ever since my childhood, I have loved Winnie the Pooh.  The stories originally written by A.A.Milne are heart-warming and fun.  The characters included in the Winnie the Pooh stories will always have a special place in my life.  When I was planning my daughter’s nursery, the Pooh played a key role – it made the room childlike, dreamy, and comforting.  Here is a picture of my daughter and her best friend.  There is no hug like a Pooh hug!

Disney A_2 With Winnie the Pooh

I’m always on the hunt for stories that are fun to read aloud.  The Winnie-the-Pooh stories are perfect!  They are as fun for an adult to read as they are for a child to listen to.  The crafting of the words, the choice of rhymes makes reading aloud a joy.  What is more fun to say than, “One sunny spring morning, Winnie the Pooh woke up with a rumbly in his tumbly. “Oh bother,” he said.”

Disney took the amazing stories of A.A. Milne and brought them to life with the Winnie-the-Pooh movies and television shows.  They captured the voices and movements that I added to the stories in my imagination accurately and with a richness that only enhances.  The Disney consumer products centered around the Pooh characters are also a step further than my imagination.  We have already introduced our new puppy to Pooh.  This is her favorite toy!

Disney Pooh Beanie Ball

At the conference, Disney gave us a gift bag with an assortment of Winnie-the-Pooh products and they are kindly also giving one of my readers that same gift bag!  Entry to win is easy.  Just leave a comment below telling me your favorite Winnie-the-Pooh character and why it’s your favorite.  For an extra daily entry, tweet about the giveaway and leave a link to the tweet in a comment.  Good luck!

The prize includes The Winnie the Pooh Movie (SRP: $34.95) Return to A.A. Milne’s Hundred Acre Wood and reunite with the beloved bear and his silly but steadfast friends for a magical family experience in Disney’s animated charmer!  Also a Winnie the Pooh Tumbler with Straw (SRP: $9.50)  Disney Pooh’s tumbler offers more sweet smackerels with fewer spills. The lid twists on tight for on-the-go thirst quenching. The dual-layer design looks just like a fast food drink cup but made from heavy-duty reusable materials.  I love the Winnie the Pooh Tee for Women (SRP: $19.95)  “You’re sure to be a ”hunny” wearing this charming cotton tee featuring huggable Winnie the Pooh, our warm and whimsical silly ol’ bear from the Hundred Acre Wood.”

Disclosure of Material Connection:  I was given the gift bag set at the Disney Social Media Moms Conference.  I paid a fee to attend the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration.  The retail value of the amenities exceeded the amount of the conference fee.  Disney has not required me to blog about the event, but I love sharing Disney experiences and information with my readers.  If you want to read more about Disney, please click on the Disney category tab in my blog header.

My favorite Pooh character is Pooh! I was born premature on Christmas Eve, 1966, the same year Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree was released. My sister, then 3, received a stuffed Pooh on Christmas morning from Santa, and then she and my dad headed for the hospital to see mom and me. My sweet sister was sad that there were no presents for me (I wasn’t supposed to be born for months), so she went to the bathroom and wrapped Winnie in swaddling toilet paper, and surprised mom with this present for me. Yes, I’ve loved Pooh my whole life, and always will!

I’ve always had a soft place in my heart for Eeyore. Not only is he absolutely adorable, I always felt a little bad for someone with a rain cloud over their head! He’s lucky to have such good friends to help him smile. (My 2-year-old says she picks Pooh Bear because he’s soft and squeeze-y).

And you’re right – no hug like a Pooh hug!
