Last Minute Holiday Gift Idea: Sonicare DiamondClean (Or Idea For What To Buy With That Gift Card!)

Morning breath.

For me, it’s a test of how clean my teeth are…. or not.  One of the most effective ways to avoid knock-you-over morning breath is to go to sleep with fresh breath.  Brush-floss-rinse, you’ve heard it before, right?  Brushing is the first step to clean teeth and the toothbrush you use can make a major difference in how easy and effective it is.  But how do you know what brush to choose?  I was recently sent the Philips Sonicare DiamondClean to try and I’m amazed.  For years I’ve heard about sonic toothbrushes, but this is the first one I’ve tried.  And there are several features of the Sonicare DiamondClean that amazed me.

Remember that feeling when you leave the dentist’s office?  Your teeth feel smooth and your mouth feels fresh.  After the first time I used it, my teeth felt noticeably cleaner.  I’m due for a cleaning soon, so there was some room for improvement before I tried the Sonicare.  Now that it’s been a week, I’m loving the clean feeling and notice that I’m not rushing for a toothbrush when I first wake up in the morning.  The morning breath test gives the Sonicare an enthusiastic thumbs up!

3.  Clean.  Not only does the Sonicare  DiamondClean do an excellent job of cleaning your teeth, it easily stays clean itself.  My old power toothbrush would get crusty, ick (sorry, best way to describe it) on the bottom.  Water and toothpaste residue would accumulate at the base of the brush.  Kind of disgusting.  The bottom of the Sonicare is smooth and easy to clean.  I just dry off the brush with a towel after I use it and it stays clean and beautiful.

4.  Timer.  I’ve had brushes that have a two minute timer.  It’s surprising how badly most of us estimate two minutes.  A timer is essential for effectively achieving that recommended two minutes of brushing time.  The Sonicare DiamondClean not only has a two minute timer, with quad notification, it shuts off after two minutes.  You don’t have to listen or pay attention or count, it shuts off.  This is also useful for those of us who may over-brush (ahem.).  Back to the quad thing, the “quadpacer” notifies you at each half minute so you can move to a different quadrant of your mouth.  It helps you get an even brushing, avoiding concentrating your time in one area and missing another.

5.  Sonic Cleaning.  I had never used a sonic product before and it surprised me!  Instead of just scrubbing or moving along the surface of your teeth, this brush drives fluid between your teeth for additional cleaning power.  The Sonicare DiamondClean also has multiple power options to Clean, Whiten, Sensitive Mode and more…..and it comes in three color choices including PINK!
