Being pregnant, doesn’t stop stars from looking fabulous, in fact, the “glow” often enhances their look. I thought this was a mis-step for actress Natalie Portman, though. She was nominated and won for her lead role in “Black Swan” but falls into the Worst Dressed Category for me!
In her acceptance speech, Natalie said that her fiance was a great actor, because in his role in “Black Swan” he said he didn’t want to sleep with her, which clearly, he did!

Sandra Bullock and Scarlett Johannsson both wore pale pink embroidered gowns that just did nothing for their figures. The color and the fabric – #fail. Sandra’s new hairstyle was a popular topic on twitter. When Ricky Gervais was oddly missing during the middle of the show, someone speculated that he was lost in Sandra’s bangs. I go with the positive reviews though, I like it – it makes her look younger and more fun!
Then there are always those who go a bit too bare…..

January Jones and Halle Berry are obviously fit and sexy. Obviously, being the operative word! A bit too “obviously”, if you ask me. Now the next two ladies are sexy without being so “out there”. Halle Berry was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for her role in “Frankie and Alice”. That category was won by Natalie Portman (Black Swan).

Eva Longoria (“Desperate Housewives”) and Sofia Vergara (“Modern Family”) looked smokin’ hot, without looking like they left part of their dress in the limo. “Modern Family” was nominated as Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical, but “Glee” took home the Golden Globe.

Angelina Jolie (The Tourist) and Anne Hathaway (Love and Drugs) were up against each other in the category, Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical which was won by Annette Bening for “The Kids Are All Right”. I loved the color of Angelina’s dress and the large sequins on Anne’s. I’m not so sure about the long sleeves though. I would prefer sleeveless on both of them.
Speaking of Annette Bening…
One of the most popular re-tweets of the night, was about Annette Bening and Al Pacino. Same hairstylist? You judge! I think, yes, yes, indeed.

Michelle Williams, “Blue Valentine”, took a fashion risk with this dress from Valentino. I loved the flowers on her shoulders, but the others? Hippie throwback? Not my favorite for a black tie event.
Just the slightest difference can make or break a dress. Jennifer? Break  Julia? Make…..
Jennifer Love Hewitt and Julia Stiles both chose classic styles and colors (black and white). But Julia’s looks stunning, while Jennifer’s looks silly. Jennifer’s reminds me of a toddler’s bib – that dress is gonna catch ANY crumbs.
Okay, one more, that was panned but I liked. What do you think?
Ricky Gervais ended the show with one last offensive joke:Â “…and I want to thank God for making me an atheist.”
You should be a fashion blogger. I have to agree with you on all counts :)
