I had so much fun designing the nursery for Rosie.  One of the few benefits of an extended adoption process is that you have time to dream, shop, play with different designs, tweak, and start all over again!  How many times can I saw “awwwww….”?  A ton, trust me!  I knew we were adopting a baby girl and pink is one of my favorite colors, so I knew there was going to be lots and lots of pink.  Sean’s mother was very ill and we knew she wouldn’t be with us for long and she helped me pick my paint colors.  I showed her a pink and a yellow and told her I couldn’t decide – she said, “Why not both?  The yellow is so light, it would be a perfect ceiling color.”  Done.  And six years later, I still love it.

My mom and dad wanted to give us Rosie’s crib as a gift.  Mom and I went shopping for weeks, we had such a blast dreaming about the day a little baby girl would be sleeping in this special crib.  I had some definite ideas about what I wanted, but couldn’t find just the right thing.  then the rest of the furniture, shelves, window treatments and bedding.  I wish I had known about Carousel Designs!

Carousel Designs has an awesome online planning tool for designing your nursery.  You can change the flooring, wall colors, crib finish, even the window/floor trim color to see how your crib bedding will coordinate with the rest of your room.  How cool is that?  Then you start on the crib bedding, choosing fabrics, colors, styles, etc.  How fun!!

If you’re not as hands-on or don’t have time to spend hours dreaming like I did, there are also “Ideas and Inspiration” that can give you a head start of baby bedding choices.  Expecting?  Planning a nursery?  Carousel Designs is a great place to dream… has a giveaway going right now for a four-piece nursery bedding set from Carousel Designs.  Hurry, it ends at midnight on 10/27!
