You might have seen some of my other posts talking about how I’m a product ambassador for Sprint.  What does that mean?  I’ve been lucky enough to try some of the coolest technology available from Sprint and their partners, so I can share the info with you.  My latest test assignment has been the Kyocera Hydro Vibe waterproof 4G LTE.  The Kyocera Hydro Vibe waterproof 4G LTE smartphone has made my life easier, more relaxing, AND more productive.

This past week, my daughter has been going to “Pony Day Camp”.  The stables are a long enough drive from our house that rather than drive back-and-forth, I stayed in the area while she was riding.  But because it’s out in farm country, finding a wi-fi connection was tough.  Saving the day was my Sprint phone, Kyocera Hydro Vibe waterproof 4G LTE smartphone!  Not only was it rugged enough to survive being in farm country with me, it had a mobile hotspot connection.  And a fast, mobile hotspot connection.  I was amazed at the quality and reliability of the connection tethering my computer through my phone.  I was able to blog without a hitch.  Even conduct a conference call, out on a farm watching horses cavort in a field, sitting in my van and I’m sure the attendee’s had no idea of my surroundings.  As part of Sprint’s offerings on this new device, the Kyocera Hydro Vibe waterproof 4G LTE smartphone has the added benefit of running on the Sprint Spark network, which enhances the phone’s LTE service.

 

And the battery?  Wow.  Even though when I turned on the Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot, the phone warned me that it would be using a lot of power, it outlasted me!  It could definitely work longer than I could.  I plugged it in to recharge every night and had no problems, even though I was using it all day at camp.  It’s described as a 2,000mAh battery, which I’m not sure what that means, but I know it lasts.

Fast forward to the end of Pony Day Camp and we are back in the pool.  I can capture the fun with photos and videos and not worry for a moment, because my Kyocera Hydro Vibe waterproof 4G LTE smartphone is WATERPROOF!  No crazy cases, no added weight or bulk, but it’s WATERPROOF!  It feels like a regular phone but with a textured back, it doesn’t feel “fragile” like many smartphones.  Whew, that takes so much of the worry and okay, crabbiness out of the fun.  I didn’t have to say once, “Hey, don’t splash, you’re going to get my phone wet!”  Nope, no “don’ts, watch it’s, heys, or anything like that” coming from me!  I was the cool mom.  Well, maybe not that far.

At first I thought that it would be an underwater camera, but it’s not really designed for that.  The touch screen for example, doesn’t function completely when it’s underwater.  Although we did coax some underwater photos out of it, it’s more of a waterproof camera and meant to be used in situations where there is water around and to eliminate the worry of an accidental dunk.  Your child wants to take the photos themselves?  No worries!  If they do drop the phone, even in the water, it will survive!
