Kids Playing Dress Up or Halloween? Rainy Day Costumes and Games!

Looking for a fun activity for your kids on a rainy day?  Play “Dress Up”!

Rosie loves to dress up and so do her friends.  The most popular?  Disney princess costumes, of course!  But boys love to get into the action as well, dressing as cowboys or their favorite super-hero.  While imagination is always encouraged and obviously comes into play, a great costume can help spur the ideas and stories that your children will discover.

I’ve ordered two costumes now from Costume Discounters and loved them both!  The latest was this adorable Princess and The Frog Princess Tiana costume and we also received an absolutely stunning Cinderella costume last year.  Both have provided hours and hours of fun for Rosie and of course, provide outfits for a special day at Disney World.

This picture with Rosie in her Cinderella costume from Costume Discounters had many people asking me if we went to Bippity-Boppity-Boutique.  Cha-ching, nope, just the headband that came with the costume *satisfied smile*.

Whether you’re looking for kids Halloween costumes or dress up play outfits, Costume Discounters has a great selection and great prices.  Check it out!

Thanks, Sara! Before we added Rosie to our family, I always said I wouldn’t encourage the “princess” thing. But now that I have her, we both love to pretend and she loves to dress up like the Disney princesses. My mom laughs at me now!

Love these ideas, only have ever done the tea party. The rest of your ideas are great. Gonna definitely try them. Really love the scavenger hunt idea!

If your kids are too young to read, (or even if they aren’t), you can make the list with pictures. Just to add a little more fun.

Rosie loves when I take pictures of places around our house or yard – kind of closeup so it’s recognizable but without too much background to put it in context – and that’s how she finds where the next clue is located.

Thanks so much for commenting! I *heart* comments :)
