Restaurant.com – Our Date Night

Sean took me out on a date night, tonight! We are finding it challenging to find time for adult conversation.  Rosie is the heartbeat of our lives, but we have been neglecting our own relationship and needed to address that.  I can report it was a success!  It was wonderful to re-connect and talk to my dear hubby.  (I was using some different words yesterday)

Part of why we enjoyed ourselves so much was because we had a gift certificate from Restaurant.com! Have you tried this yet?  I’d used their gift certificates last year, but hadn’t lately.  If you haven’t taken a look, this is how it works.  You go to the website Restaurant.com (You can also go there through Mr. Rebates and get a rebate on top of your savings)!  Restaurant.com offers gift certificates to thousand of restaurants – you can search by zip code, state or city.

You choose the restaurant and amount of gift certificate, follow the on-screen directions, and check out.  You will be prompted to print your certificate when your finished and you bring that with you to the restaurant.  Tell your waitress when you order that you have the certificate, so if there are any special restrictions, she will be able to tell you.

Each restaurant has different restrictions so you have to watch carefully.  The one we choose sold $25 certificates for $10.  BUT, there is currently an 80% off sale!  If you use the code, BIG, that same $25 certificate is only $2!  BUT, the restrictions told me that we needed to spend a minimum of $45 (excluding beverages).   I think of it as buying a coupon – we spent $2 to buy a coupon for $25 off $45.  It doesn’t always result in savings.  We tend to be frugal when we go out to eat and would normally have spent $30 and with the certificate we actually spent $35.  But, we had a much better meal and for what we ate, it was a bargain.  Instead of perhaps a chicken sandwich, we had ribeye steaks and a delicious appetizer. Yummy!  Good conversation, excellent company, good food!

If you’re looking for a way to save on a special meal, check out Restaurant.com and don’t forget the 80% off code, BIG, good through August 16th.

So cool, date night is always a treat! Restaurant.com is awesome- the only problem I have is there’s not a whole lotta offerings in my neck o’ the woods, but I scope them out when we plan vacations or trips to the city.

    Hugs,
