The well-connected American driver who invited her to Ireland has disappeared. And now Emma and Colin are in Declan’s Cross.

Carla Neggers is the New York Times bestselling author of more than 60 novels, with translations in 24 languages. Born and raised on the western edge of the beautiful Quabbin Reservoir in rural Massachusetts, Carla grew up with tales of her father’s life as a Dutch sailor and her mother’s childhood in northwest Florida.
At a young age, Carla began penning her own stories on a branch high up in her favorite sugar maple. Now she enjoys spending time at the family homestead (now a tree farm) with her six brothers and sisters and their families. When she’s not writing, Carla loves to travel, hike, kayak, garden, and, of course, dive into a good book. She lives with her family in Vermont, near Quechee Gorge.
Have you ever read a book and wanted to go slowly so you could savor the story? That’s what I’m doing with Declan’s Cross. I’m about halfway through and knew yesterday that I should hurry so I could review it, but just enjoy reading it so much I wanted to linger! So I can’t comment on the ending of the book, but so far I am loving it. The main characters are FBI agents – smart and strong. But they are also very human. The setting of Ireland provides a beautiful backdrop. I also like the twist of a marine biology element, I haven’t read that in a novel, as far as I can remember. Romantic thrillers are one of my favorite genres and Carla Neggers is a proven master.

“Carla Neggers has emerged as the queen of the romantic suspense novel…Heron’s Cove is a novel that is written with a gripping and suspenseful style that will surely have the most astute armchair sleuths and amateur detectives scratching their heads and guessing right up until the very end. Neggers does a first-rate job of creating scenes with images that are so vivid, one can almost breathe in the briny salt air along Maine’s craggy coast.”
