It can all be so complicated. In the final episode of Rizzoli & Isles last season, best friends Jane and Maura find themselves in situations where they have to choose between their friendship and doing the right thing. Have you been watching? Maura has a very complicated relationship with both her parents, but especially her father. Jane’s outlook towards Maura’s father is not so complicated. Â He’s a crook. Â Jane is a police officer. Â Hmmm, not exactly a friendly relationship.
In the final episode of Season 2, Burning Down the House, fans were left with a cliffhanger after everything came to a head at the end of the episode. Doyle (Maura’s father) arrives on the scene just in time to save his daughter from the would-be killer, but he evades arrest and starts shooting at the cops.  That’s Jane!
Jane shoots back and ends up wounding Maura’s father. As deep as the friendship is between Jane and Maura, it’s going to be a rough road for their relationship to overcome the situation. Â Is that something you can forgive? Â forget? move on from? Â Will Jane and Maura’s relationship ever be the same again?

Rizzoli & Isles airs Tuesday nights at 9/8c on TNT.  Season Three premieres June 5th and creator, Janet Tomaro tells us, there will be “so much new drama, I’m worried we won’t be able to tell all the stories I’ve got planned. Jane will have some heartbreak. Maura’s family life will get more complicated. Frank Sr. will be back to throw a few big rocks into the middle of the lake, as will youngest kid, Tommy. That’s just a little taste of this upcoming season.† I’ll be watching, join me!
