“What do you do all day while your daughter’s in school?”

If you’re a stay-at-home mom like me, you’ve probably been asked that question or a variation of it. The first time I heard it, I was all, “um, um, um”. How was it that I never seem to be caught up, never seem to have a minute, but couldn’t answer that question? Well, the answer is, I’m a Mom. That means, I cook, pick up, clean, pick up, plan, pick up, entertain, pick up, wash clothes, pick up, wash cars, pick up, clean out cars, pick up, do the dishes… Did I mention that I pick up?
This was my day today. Up at five to get ready for a volunteer project I had at seven. Get my daughter dressed and ready for school. Dad was taking her to school, but Mom had to get her dressed. Go to my meeting. In the middle of the meeting, take a call from my daughter because there was something only Mom could do. Home from meeting, change clothes, start laundry. Run to the store. More laundry. Make recipe for blog post and take pictures. Nursing home calls, problem with Dad, run over to help. Home and more laundry. Start writing post. In a bit, I’ll go pick up my daughter from school. Whew, that’s what I do all day! Okay, what do I say? I’m really busy, but if you ask me what I do all day while my daughter is in school, I’m still saying, “um”.
Well, if you’re like me and can’t find an answer for that question, but also can’t find a spare minute in your day, you’ll like this recipe. I use the term “recipe” loosely, because it is so easy and fast. I make it for an after school snack but it works equally well for a dinner on-the-go or shhh, even a last minute breakfast in the car.
Chicken Wrap
Ingredients
Tyson Fully-Cooked Chicken Fries
Whole Wheat Tortilla or Wrap
Shredded Cole Slaw or Lettuce
Tomatoes, Cucumber, Carrots (optional veggies – whatever is in the fridge)
Barbecue Sauce
Ranch Dressing
Tyson Fully-Cooked Chicken Fries are the perfect solution for an easy after-school snack that your kids will love! You can dip them in your favorite sauce, or if you need an on-the-go fun snack – make a wrap!
I made the Tyson Chicken Fries in the microwave and they came out delicious. (yes I munched on a few while making the wraps, Mom’s bonus)
Lay out the wrap, add chicken, shredded lettuce, and veggies. I mix the barbecue and ranch for a fun, tangy “secret sauce” and drizzle over the other ingredients.
Fold the wrap – bottom of the circle up. Then left side and right side.
To create a fun treat for kids, wrap the wrap (that’s fun to say!) in a napkin featuring their favorite character. We’re going to Disney World on Thursday and the first character we’re going to see at the reception area is Winne-the-Pooh.
All that takes 3 minutes and
you have happy, kid – happy mom!
I first tasted Tyson Chicken Fries at a sampling in my Sam’s Club. I love trying new foods and the sampling let’s you try before you buy. They also gave me ideas for using the Chicken Fries, including on a party platter, in a wrap, or with different dipping sauces. Like their slogan says, “any time is Chicken Fry Time”.
