Do you have a tax refund coming? Â Maybe now is the time to look at your mobile phone carrier and find something better!
If you are like me, you find the phone plans confusing. Â Yikes, it’s a phone service not rocket science. Â With a charge for this, a charge for that, a charge for renting the phone (called a variety of different things), a charge for data, a charge for data overages… Â it goes on and on and your bill gets higher and higher. Â One of our family’s challenges is data usage. Â My daughter loves watching videos on her phone but video eats up data. Â Our rule was no videos unless you are on wifi. Â But it was when we were out-and-about that she most wanted to be able to use her phone to watch videos.
A few days ago, I went to Walmart and picked up a very cool Samsung phone (Samsung Galaxy Core Prime – $79.92 – Rollback from $99.92) and enrolled in the Walmart Family Mobile PLUS plan – Unlimited Talk, Text and Data including 10GB 4G LTE Data plus a free movie on VUDU every month, per line for $49.88 a month*.  Because I bought the phone outright (that’s where a tax refund would come in handy) there’s no additional monthly charge for phone rental, which can be huge!  *You will also need to purchase the $25 starter kit if you are not already using Walmart Family Mobile as your service provider.
10GB of data! TEN! Holey-moley! Â Now, my daughter can watch videos in those place she most hates to wait. Â Here are her top three worst places to wait.
1. Kids hate to wait… in the car!
“Are we there yet?” Â Doesn’t every kid hate long car rides? Â Not if they can watch videos on their phone!
2. Â Kids hate to wait… at a fast-food place!
It’s “fast” food right? Â Not if you have to wait in line!
3. Kids hate to wait for their mom…. ANYWHERE!
Buying the phone is super easy.  I went to the Entertainment area in my local Walmart and the phones were in the Walmart Family Mobile section, very clearly marked.  I picked up the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime.  I couldn’t believe what a nice looking phone it was for such an amazing price of only $79.92 – Rollback from $99.92.
I grabbed a $25Â starter kit as well. Â When I got home, I followed the easy instructions on the boxes. Â The Samsung Galaxy Core Prime phone has a pearlized back that makes the phone smooth but not slippery in your hand.
The Samsung Galaxy Core Prime has a bright, clear display.  I love the raised “home” button instead of an on-screen button.
My daughter especially likes the size of the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime – it fits in her hand easily and her pocket!
The Starter Guide tells you to 1. detach your SIM card and the phone manual tells you exactly how and where to put it for your specific model. Â Then you 2. insert the battery in your phone and replace the cover. Â You then plug in your phone to charge the battery. Â Using a different phone, call the toll free number listed in the Starter Guide. Â They will ask you for your name, address, credit card number and the numbers in your Starter Kit and phone box. Â It took me about 15 minutes, start to finish!
The Walmart Family Mobile PLUS plan is going to PLUS up our lives!  We are so excited about the 10 GB of data PLUS a free movie on VUDU.  What a value adding in that you are getting a free movie once a month as part of the plan.  We can’t wait to watch it on our Smart TV.  You can also watch on ROKU(R), Chromecast(R), VUDU Spark(TM), tablet, or other compatible devices.
