In episode 18, of the WB’s Hit TV Show, Chuck, Sarah worries that the CIA is replacing them with Casey’s extremely efficient team. Â But Chuck considers himself irreplaceable with the Intersect. Â If you are a Chuck fan, you know that the Intersect refers to the project that united the data of the CIA and the NSA to find intersections or information about common cases. Â Remember after Sept. 11th, there were uproars because government agencies weren’t talking to each other, working together or sharing information.
We’ve all faced our “replace-ability” at one time or another. Â In every job, especially in these economic times, we consider whether we are replaceable and how easily our boss could find a replacement. Â Maybe someone younger, who would accept less pay.
In our personal lives, we may face threats of being replaced. Â The First Wives Club is populated with women who found out their husbands had replaced them with younger models.
Thankfully, I’ve never faced the replacement situation in my personal life but I have always been aware of the issue at the various jobs I’ve had. Â Again, thankfully, I never went through being replaced. Â I can only imagine how difficult it would be!
