Child One:  “I won!  Nah, nah, nah!  I WON!  You lost!  I WON!”

Child Two:  ” I don’t want to play anymore.”

Have you heard that before?  *Sigh* This stage that kids go through of MUST-win competitiveness can be frustrating.  While you know that every child needs to learn to be a gracious winner and a brave loser, it’s still tough to get through the learning times.

The people at Peaceable Kingdom have developed a fun type of game that is called a “cooperative game.”  What is a cooperative game?  I’ll let them tell you:

A cooperative game is a game where all players play together against a common obstacle, not against each other. In a cooperative game no one feels left out and everyone has fun! Peaceable Kingdom’s cooperative board games use familiar game mechanisms – spinning a spinner, matching cards, moving a token, strategizing a win! The difference is that players play together. Playing together helps kids in many ways – they experience shared decision-making, they build self-esteem, they learn to share, to feel compassion, and to work as a team. Playing cooperative games teaches kids to cooperate.

How smart is that?  Willy’s Wiggle Web is one of the cooperative games from Peaceable Kingdom and we thought we’d give it a try.  It’s very easy to set up, you put up the supports for the paper web, stretch it out and then load it with little bugs and Willy.  The object of the game is to release all the little bugs without dropping Willy.  With child-safe scissors you make cuts to the web to release them.

Willy’s Wiggly Web has already won three major awards:

  • 2012 Oppenheim Gold Award
  • 2012 Gold NAPPA Award
  • 2012 Parents’ Choice Approved

This game is a great affordable gift for an entire family at under $20!  Are you visiting someone this Christmas?  Bring along Willy’s Wiggle Web as a fun gift and be prepared to giggle!

ABOUT PEACEABLE KINGDOM
Peaceable Kingdom was founded in 1983 with a single product – a children’s poster based on the artwork from the classic children’s book Goodnight Moon. Twenty-eight years and more than 5,000 SKUs later, the company has grown to be a leader in juvenile stickers and greeting cards and is just this year expanding their product offerings to include cooperative games.
Peaceable Kingdom’s mission is to make good, do good, and be good. Which means: to create fresh, fun, award-winning products that educate, inspire, and tickle funny bones, to donate to charitable organizations that support the well-being of children, to remain committed to socially-conscious manufacturing practices and sustainable and eco-friendly materials, to maintain integrity in all business relationships and to support the people who support us! The Peaceable Kingdom philosophy – come into the kingdom and join the fun!

Disclosure of Material Connection:  I was sent the game for review.
