The VTech DS6421-3 Phone System has features I didn’t know I wanted and love, until I had them! What I like best though is the look of this phone. I know, I know, it’s what’s inside that counts, blah, blah. I love how this phone looks and feels. It has a very sleek design and fits smoothly into the cradle creating a flat, shiny surface. What can I say? I like shiny things!
Second only to looks for me is sound quality. I talk for long periods of time, I talk a lot, okay?! It’s very frustrating to be on a phone with poor quality for ahem, cough, ahem, an hour or more. When your best friend is telling you that she thinks her husband is *static* *static* and you don’t know whether to congratulate her and be jealous, or give her the name of a great divorce lawyer, it’s time for a new phone – no matter how good it looks. The VTech did not disappoint. The sound quality was awesome and I could hear perfectly well that my friends husband just got a promotion!! Whew, that was close. The handset has an equalizer that allows you to adjust the treble and bass with four setting choices. I do not have a very good “ear” (can’t sing a note) but I could clearly tell the difference between the four and had a strong preference for the bass. With HD Audio, the frequency band has been extended to allow for a fuller, clearer sound.
A feature that we didn’t know existed and now love, love, love, is the Voice Announce Caller ID. Have you done this? The phone rings, you run to answer it, only to see, “Jack’s Annoying Telemarketing” on your caller id. Ugh! Ran for nothing, you’re not going to pick that up – voicemail for Jack! And, of course he won’t leave a message. Anyway…. with Voice Announce, the phone tells, yup, I said, tells, you who is calling and you can decide whether you’re going to answer it before you get off the Lazyboy. The voice is female and a bit mechanical (Brad Pitt must not have been available), but it’s okay with me as long as it saves me from running for the phone.
An important option for us to have a bazillion handsets. We like to have one in Rosie’s room, one in our kitchen, one in the den, and one in our bedroom. Are you adding that four isn’t a bazillion? Okay, okay, we need four. The system we were sent for review only came with 3, but it is available with more handsets and they are easy to add – it can be expanded up to 12! Wow, 12 IS a bazillion. And at vtechphones.com, they are only $19.95 for an accessory handset. By the way, if you’ve never used multiple handset phones, you can put the charger anywhere where you have an electrical outlet. You only need one phone jack wherever you put the main base. And the handsets can go anywhere (and often do wander in our house, luckily there is a “Find Handset” feature, just sayin’).
One A-MAZING feature that we don’t use, but I imagine would be mighty handy for many people is the Bluetooth pairing-to-cell-phone option. You can connect your cell phone to the VTech system and make/receive cellular calls with the VTech handsets! You have the comfort and quality of a “regular” phone, but you are using your cell phone line. Cool? You betcha! If you don’t have a landline, or are thinking of eliminating it, this is an A-MAZING feature.
The Bluetooth Connect-to-Cell has one more huge benefit that you may want to use even if you still keep your landline. You can download and store your cell phone contact list into the VTech system! It stores 6,000 directories from up to four different cell phones. Wow.
Today’s moms are “Janes of all trades†— with starring roles as the family cook, banker, personal shopper, babysitter, chauffeur, logistics planner, social scheduler and, generally, the glue that holds it all together. As back-to-school season is already here, life accelerates and “supermoms†need even more help keeping the chaos under control. This giveaway is a chance to win a tool that can help you as the chief orchestrators of home and school life cope with the busy back-to-school season.
Another option is the new VTech LS6475-3 – a cordless headset phone system can help supermom get more done. With a kid on one hip and a basket of laundry on the other, moms can carry on calls with friends, family or school contacts using the system’s built-in cordless headset, which makes multitasking a snap. The system’s superior sound quality and range enables us to freely move about the house accomplishing home, school or work tasks as we easily take care of business on the phone.
The only suggestion that I have for VTech after reviewing the DS6421-3 phone? Okay, VTech, what kinda name is “DS6421-3”? I mean c’mon. When I’m in the car line to pick up Rosie at school, I cannot be telling the mom in the car next to me – “I just got the coolest phone system at home that pairs to my cell phone! It’s the DS6421-3!” I’m just not feelin’ it? Are you? You have to find a better name!!
Anyway, that’s just a taste of all the features available on the VTech sleek new phones! Enter to win a VTech DS6421-3 Three Handset Connect to Cell Answering System with Caller ID/Call Waiting of your own! The Rafflecopter entry form follows.

Oh my GOSH!!! I dont’ think there is a feature I DON’T LOVE!!! It looks great for one! And sounds awesome! I didn’t know that you could connect your cell phone to a phone like this. That is fabulous! We are not cellular only but I have been considering doing it for some time. I don’t like to have to be using my cell while at home but this would be PERFECT! I love that you can have so many connected and the push to talk intercom is a feature I think I would use a LOT! Great phone! Thanks for sharing and thank you for the chance to WIN!

My favorite feature is that it “Audibly announces the name and number of the caller on all of the handsets and base unit.” This will save me from having to stop whatever I’m doing to answer unwanted calls.
I like the Connect to Cell feature!
I have some older V-Tech phones in this house and although I’ve been happy with them for the most part, I think the old bad width interferes with some other things like my cell phone when making a call on it. So, I think that this is one of the new great features, along with announcing who is calling…particularly with the annoying political calls we will all getting soon!
Actually a couple features appeal to me:
. Audible announcement of caller’s name & number
. Expandable to up to 12 handsets using one jack.
I like that it could connect to your cell phone.
One of the features I like is that you could protect yourself from identity theft with digital security because calls are digitized and encrypted, making it nearly impossible for someone to eavesdrop.

they had me at push to talk then w/the not needing your phone to see who is calling and also not having to get up if it is a solicitor!! those stand out to me. I like that the phones audibly announce the name and number of the caller on all of the handsets and base unit. If I am making or eating supper I don’t want to answer if a telemarketer is calling and this would make it so much easier to know.
I love that it tells you who is calling out loud, so you don’t need your handset. (wasn’t sure if I should do this on rafflecopter or not)
