I’m off to the movies!

Coming This Fall to Theaters – The Disney Favorite, “Finding Nemo in 3D”! Watch the Trailer

When my Mom, Rosie and I went to see Beauty and the Beast in 3D, we were treated to a trailer for Finding Nemo in 3D!  I can’t wait!  Finding Nemo is one of our favorite Disney comedies.  I love Dora – she made me laugh the first time I saw the movie, and the gazillionth time.  If you haven’t seen the movie in a bit, Nemo is separated from his Dad (Marlin) and captured by fisherman.  Nemo ends up in a dentist’s office where he tries his best to escape and be reunited with Marlin.  Meanwhile, Marlin has befriended a forgetful fish named Dora who sort-of helps him find Nemo.  Both Marlin and Nemo end up finding a lot more than just each other when they find courage, the value of friendship, and the bond of family.  The voices in Finding Nemo include, Albert Brooks, Ellen DeGeneres, Alexander Gould, Willem Dafoe, Brad Garrett, Allison Janney, and Geoffrey Rush.

If you read my review you know that we were thrilled by Beauty and Beast and so glad we went.  There is something about the theater experience, especially in 3D that makes the movies even more magical!

The Academy Award nominations are coming out tomorrow – I’m so excited!!  I started watching some movies that I suspect will be on the list for best movie.  I’d love to be able to review all of them for you in the next month before the awards on Feb. 26th.  Did you know that Finding Nemo won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature?  AND the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy!

Watch this trailer and more news will be coming in the time between now and the opening – Sept. 14, 2012!

Movie Review: Beauty and the Beast in 3D – Three Generations Loved It!

My mom, my daughter, and I went to see Beauty and the Beast today.  In true Disney tradition, it was magical!  Despite the fact that I’ve seen the movie a gazillion times, it was magical to see it in the theater and in 3D.  The familiar scenes were beautiful in three dimensions and theater projection size.  The music we all love was big and rich from theater speakers.

My mom was hesitant to go and reluctantly agreed to go, just to be with us.  After the movie she said she was so glad we talked her into it!  She loved seeing this old favorite in the theater.  It was her first 3D movie in years and she was pleasantly surprised at the advances in 3D technology.

If you’re a Tangled fan, make sure you get to the theater on time!  There is a funny short feature called Tangled Ever After that shows the antics of Max and the Chameleon during the wedding of Princess Rapunzel and Prince Eugene.

Here’s some Beauty and the Beast fun!

Fill in the blanks:

A Tale as Old as _________.

What is dinner without a little ____________.

Trivia:

Who said, “Do I still have to sleep in the cupboard?”  (That’s Rosie’s favorite line)

What is the name of La Lumiere’s sweetheart?

Who said, “If it’s not Baroque, don’t fix it!”?

For the correct answers, go to Beauty and the Beast on Facebook and watch this trailer!
